Week One

So, end of my first week of my programme - I've cycled 65 miles since Monday, when I took a trip to Gosport via Fareham, took the ferry to Gunwarf, crossed Southsea to the Hayling ferry, then home on the Billy Trail. This week, the evenings were bright, and when I got home I got my kit together and headed off. If this is how its going to be over the summer, then bring it on.

The only downside was getting my stats for Body Fat %, and my BMI - have a look at your own It don't have the courage to pop the stats down here, but just to say, it wasn't great.

Anyway...we're on the right track.

...now play with the lego.

kblego.jpg

Only a fortnight away now, the trailers for Kill Bill Vol.2 are at the flicks, with Uma and co. looking like they're going the wreak more havoc on cinema-goers. The japanese DVD comes complete with little lego action figure, how cool is that - in fact Lego still have a great lineup of movie action figures. The only thing to note is how close it looks to a Qee, there's also a sword and a t-shirt too. Vol.1 out on DVD soon

Parking Spots

Parking Spots is a cute little website found by Neil (you need a blog - I can't keep up.), where the idea is to hold up a picture of a toy car against a background so that the scale makes the car look big. There's a big gallery of photos, and now people have started to act out scenes, like Villagers rescued from burning church etc, using a toy fire engine. Its a bit strange, but rather charming - I agree that the fingers holding the toy car are an integral part of the overall effect.

London to Brighton

ltb01.jpg

This week I was very happy to become rider number 23482 in this year's London to Brighton. This is a charity ride intended to raise money for British Heart Foundation. I will be riding 54 miles from Clapham Common to the seafront in Brighton along with 26,999 others on Sunday June 20th. I will not be alone, and have roped in Martin, Neil and John, who I'm sure will be happy to ride with me for a few miles before I tell them "leave me, I'll only slow you down" like in old adventure movies. I have planned a regime to get me up to full fitness and will try to get close to the 50 before the day itself.

The BHF have added a new feature to the sponsorship side, with a new online sponsor form where you can enter your details and sponsor me direct. There's a permanent link on the right hand side. I should remind you to tick the gift aid box, this means that for every £1 you give the BHF can claim an extra 28p from the tax man. And it won't cost you a penny extra.

So, this a big thing, I'm hoping you're going to make it a huge success, please give generously, every penny will send me on my way and help the British Heart Foundation. Messages of encouragement will be most welcome, I'll let you know how the training goes, and report on the big day when it finally happens.

The Hungry Bear

The-Hungry-Bear.jpg

This is the first of (hopefully) a long line of items from Imakethings, and I was so pleased and lucky to see this little book pop through my letterbox this week. It came with its own badge - which I have been wearing, if only to explain to everyone I meet that they should get their own copy of "The Hungry Bear". I hear that the peeps at Tado were very impressed, and that's quite a compliment.

On a separate note - this is the first image I've put in that is also a hyperlink (I know its basic, but its a big step for me)

Blame Mutya

Following on from the earlier mention of Chav's, it seems that someone at last has unveiled the truth behind the evil that is Mutya from the Sugarbabes. Seems she's responsible for many of the world's evils, from the Kennedy Assasination to the Ebola Virus. Maybe its a bit harsh, but I wonder which of the other 'babes were responsible for this site. It seems the girl has even left a post in the guestbook, so if you want to speak to Mutya herself, the email her at satanswillingwhore@hotmail.com...and no...I haven't got the bottle.

Neil spotted this story, which appears to be the first reported case of Ipod rage. Its kind of horrific, and I had to check the dateline for an April fool's. It must have been the final straw...that's all I can think.

Spring is here

april-banner.jpg
An April Banner for those who want it. I think this a slightly Lynchian banner. Oh, and I notice that Eraserhead is out on DVD, althought there doesn't seem to much in the way of extra features.
